Destocking Drags Underwear Imports Down in October

Cons. Discr. - Apparel 494 U.S. 5317

The process of inventory management by U.S. retailers likely explains falling apparel shipments recently. The end of that trend has not yet occurred for underwear specialists including Hanesbrands and Victoria’s Secret, whose U.S. imports dropped 57% and 55% respectively in October. Total U.S. imports declined 14.4% in October after a modest 1% increase in September, Panjiva data shows.
