Esquel Group has sued the U.S. government to be removed from the Entity List of firms that are subject to licensing when doing business with U.S. corporations. The apparel maker had been added to the list in July 2020 after accusations, denied by the firm, that it is involved in forced labor in the Xinjiang region of China. The listing appears to have had a significant impact on the firm’s operations.
