Export activity across the Americas rebounded in January with a 3.5% year over year rise in exports being helped by a 3.3% rise in exports from the U.S. and 3.1% from Canada. Globally that meant the Americas were the fastest growing region after global exports rose by just 0.4%, avoiding a repeat of December’s decline. Europe was the worst performing region with a 5.2% drop. The initial data for 10 Asian countries shows the region’s exports may have dropped 4.2% year over year when taking January and February together.
