Australia’s exports jumped 23% on a year earlier in June, the eighth month of double-digit growth. Yet, that was slower than economists’ forecasts and resulted in the trade surplus being just 48% of the level expected. Slowing growth to China was to blame, which dropped to 13% from 26% the month prior. That is likely the result of lower metal ore shipments, which increased at half the rate of a month earlier and represent 57% of sales to China.
