The Chinese government’s investigation of memory chip imports has found “massive evidence” of price fixing. That comes as demand for imported semiconductors in China surged 22.7% in the three months to Oct. 31 to reach $368.5 billion. Samsung Electronics was the largest supplier of memory chips specifically to China in 2017 with $14.4 billion imported by its local subsidiary, predominantly from South Korea.
