Grate Opportunity from U.S. Infrastructure Plan, But Not for All

The U.S. ITC has voted to retain antidumping duties on imports of iron construction products, including manhole covers and gratings, from Brazil, Canada and China for a further five years. While the producers in those countries still have a 5.1% share of imports, current trade is dominated by exporters from India. Mexican manufacturers, including Bel and Acerlan, have only 4% of the market right now, so have an opportunity to grow under the new U.S. administration’s potential infrastructure plans.
