Hapag-Lloyd has cancelled a planned sailing from southern Europe to the U.S. for Dec. 29, which the container-line says is “due to lack of cargo because of the current COVID-19 situation and as part of the winter program”. Hapag-Lloyd’s handling of freight between ports on the route in France, Italy and Spain to the U.S. east coast climbed by 15.4% year over year in October and by 23.0% in the first half of November.
