Hapag-Lloyd will extend its expansion in refrigerated transport with an investment in 14,700 TEUs of capacity, which comes on top of 10,750 TEUs a year ago. That follows CMA-CGM’s recent commitment to expansion via a joint venture with Seatrade. The sector has struggled to expand, however, with U.S. inbound volumes having fallen 3% over the past 12 months on a year earlier.
