The INSEE survey of French managers’ expectations for exports became more negative in October, reaching -12 from -10 a month before. That is the worst level since June 2015. This contrasts with improving sentiment in the U.K., likely driven by the weaker pound making British exports cheaper than those from France. Still, at least French exports to the U.S. are improving. They increased by 2% on a seaborne volume basis on a year earlier in September according to Panjiva data.
