Inventec will reportedly move its manufacturing of laptops for the U.S. market to Taiwan from China, with its fellow contract manufacturers potentially following suit. So far Taiwan as a country has been a niche supplier to the U.S. with exports of 1.28 million units in the 12 months to Jun. 30 versus 93.73 million from China according to Panjiva’s data.
