The U.S. ITC has determined that exports of steel wire rod from South Africa and Ukraine have injured U.S. industry, allowing the Commerce Department to apply duties. The case has been partly successful – imports from South Africa and Ukraine have been zero since August, but total imports only fell 15% in the fourth quarter on a year earlier.
