Maersk has received the go-ahead from Brazil’s competition authority, CADE, for its acquisition of Hamburg Sud. The investigation had been extended due to its complexity, before being approved after Maersk agreed to sell its cabotage business to CMA-CGM. It still requires approval from authorities in four jurisdictions including South Africa.
