The governments of the U.K. and Indonesia will shortly sign a memorandum of understanding to expand bilateral trade, backed by £4 billion ($5.5 billion) of U.K. export finance. Bilateral trade reached £1.58 billion in the 12 months to Jan. 31 after a 15.3% year over year decline. Trade is weighted in favor of Indonesian exports, with the U.K. government likely to want to expand exports as well as negotiate affiliation with the ASEAN group.
