Malaysian tanker operator MISC reported a 4% decline in third quarter revenues vs. the second and 9% vs. the previous year. This continues the trend of weaker revenues by the tanker companies, seen also by Euronav and Bahri. A 21% drop in rates on a year earlier is to blame, though a 6% rise in October so far suggests improvements ahead are possible.
