Chemical tanker operator Stolt-Nielsen’s latest quarterly revenues fell 2% compared to the prior quarter and were 3% below analysts’ expectations. Lower spot rates led their sailed-in time-charter index to fall 5%, whereas oil tanker rates increased 8% over the same period. The results mark a contrast to oil tanker companies – Euronav reported a 10% increase in revenues – and container-liners, where Orient Overseas saw 13% growth.
