Orient Overseas may soon order six new 23,000 TEU container vessels. That could add 4.9% to the total capacity of Cosco Shipping – Orient Overseas’ parent company – to bring its total capacity to 3.11 million TEUs once the current round of orders is completed. That would still only leave it as the third largest liner by capacity behind Maersk and MSC.
