The Chinese government has begun approvals to restart imports of corn, cotton, pork and sorghum from the U.S. That’s one of the commitments made following a meeting between President Xi and President Trump nearly a month ago. The move comes just ahead of a new round of talks between the two countries and is vital to maintain the fragile peace between the two. There was a 5.5% drop in global U.S. exports of food and beverages in June, largely down to China’s tariffs.
