U.S.-based Perdue Farms will open a trading office in Brazil to improve its access to the country’s soybean and corn exports. Brazil’s farmers will likely welcome the diversification of customers. Panjiva data shows 70% of Brazil soybean exports went to China in the past 12 months, with a total decline of 46% in exports of beans in August alone. Corn exports are doing better – volumes increased 34% in August, with 47% going to China and 19% to the U.S.
