The U.S. ITC has received two anti-dumping petitions relating to plastic resins, marking a turn from previous cases that have focussed on metals and machinery. The PET resin (used in bottles) case against five countries comes as imports increased 9% in the past 12 months on a year earlier. That was led by Brazilian exports that climbed 37% in the past year from near-zero in 2014. In August though there was a 25% sequential drop, suggesting shippers leaving the market.
