Royal Dutch Shell will begin shipping refined oil to Mexico from the U.S. in 2H 2020 from two new export facilities according to Murray Fonseca, the firm’s downstream director for Mexico. Mexico’s refined oil imports fell 10.7% year over year in 3Q. That follows the country becoming a net importer over the past five years with imports equivalent to 7.5x the level of exports in the 12 months to Sept. 30.
