Samsung Electronics has warned its 2Q profitability will be down sequentially, in part due to weak demand for its mobile phones and OLED screens. Samsung produces phones in South Korea and Vietnam for export to the U.S. market. Shipments from South Korea to the U.S. in the three months to April 30 fell 6% on a year earlier while exports from Vietnam fell 4%. That may, however, also reflect a weaker market more broadly as total U.S. mobile phone imports fell 5% over the same period.
