Container handling at the Port of Savannah increased 6% on a year earlier in November, the fastest rate since February. This in turn was driven by an 11% growth in imports resulting from a 37% jump in shipments from Europe, Panjiva data shows. The more modest 4% growth in imports from China and Hong Kong shows regional competitor Charleston is grabbing a higher share of trans-Panamanian shipments.
