The rate of petitions made to the U.S. ITC for new trade investigations has slowed in 2018. That partly reflects the more aggressive approach to trade policy regarding both antidumping and intellectual property rights from the Trump administration. A total of eight cases were brought in May, bringing the year-to-date total to 34 cases – down 6% on a year earlier.
