Starbucks, JM Smucker Cut Back on Brazilian Coffee as Global Exports Sour

Global coffee supplies may have entered a downturn in October, with global exports having fallen by 15.9% year over year after a 2.6% surge in 3Q. That’s largely down to exports from Brazil which dropped by 12.9% in October after an 8.8% surge in 3Q. Coffee joins soybeans in driving a decline in Brazil’s agricultural exports. U.S. coffee imports from Brazil stalled in October, with imports down by 3.0% year over year.
