Thailand’s successful trade growth may put it at risk from the attentions of the Trump administration. Global exports increased 6% in December and the country delivered its 20th straight trade surplus. The U.S., its largest export partner, was responsible for much of the growth, with customers there importing 12% more goods by sea in December, Panjiva data shows. Increasingly this is being driven by exports of higher value added products. Shipments of household appliances increased 15%, while printers jumped 63%.
