The U.S. Commerce Department will proceed with an anti-dumping case regarding steel rebar against Japan, Taiwan and Turkey. Panjiva data shows imports of the products concerned increased 20% on a year earlier in August in tons, bringing the value of imports to $760 million for the 12 months. The growth was led by imports from Taiwan – Turkey was largely unchanged – suggesting exporters are rushing to secure sales ahead of a decision being made.
