UPS Heads Up, Expeditors Loses NVOCC Share as Panalpina and DSV Debate Deals

Shipments handled by NVOCCs on U.S.-inbound routes took another step ahead in September, with volumes rising 5% on a year earlier. Asian traffic led the way, with hurricane disruption dealt with by month end. Expeditors, the number one operator, lagged the group somewhat with growth of just 3% while UPS led the way with a 32% expansion. That moved UPS ahead by one place vs. a year earlier to third largest NVOCC by volume, ahead of Deutsche-Post DHL.
