Brazillian iron ore miner Vale has received permission to reopen is Alegria mine, which previously lost its license in March. That will help continue to bolster Vale’s recovery in output since a mining disaster in February. Exports of iron ore by the miner from Brazil fell 13.3% sequentially in September, marking a pause in its recovery from April’s lows, though it is still 104% above that point. Vale has lost market share to its competitors including CSN and Anglo America – Vale’s exports in September were 20.1% lower year over year while all other exporters saw a 35.9% increase.
