Global coffee exports rose 1% in September according to ICO data after jumping 10% in August. While Vietnamese supplies climbed 62% on a year earlier, helping exporters such as Mercon Coffee, Brazil’s exports dropped by 22%. Exporter Cooxupe has cut its full year production target by 11%. U.S. imports increased 3% in September, Panjiva data shows, but a drop in imports in October of up to 33% may reflect the Brazilian shortfall. A 9% increase in coffee prices in October so far shows the market is trying to catch-up.
