Mexican automotive export growth slowed in June to 1.7% year over year compared to a 4.1% expansion in the prior three months. That’s in part due to declining auto sales in the U.S. – which fell by 1.9% year over year – with GM’s exports down 8.0% and lower shipments by Toyota and Nissan too. Not all suppliers have cut their shipments though. Ford’s exports grew by 23.9% in number of vehicles globally, following a 43.9% increase in dollar terms in May. Volkswagen has been a more extreme example – the dollar value of its exports from Mexico to the U.S. in May surged 110.7% year over year....
