Microsoft has announced it next generation videogame console, Project Scarlett, will only be released in 2020. That follows Sony’s similar position for the PlayStation 5 and would suggest weak sales for the 2019 holiday season. U.S. imports of videogame consoles fell 55.2% year over year in the first four months of 2019 with seaborne shipments down 5.2% in May.
