Antidumping Case Backlog Only Building Slowly as Tile and Cherry Complaints Arrive

China 3007 Materials - Construction 117 Tariffs 1826 U.S. 5355

The U.S. International Trade Commission received six new trade infraction complaints in April, including two new antidumping cases relating to ceramic tiles and dried cherries. There may be a pause in antidumping petitions while U.S.-China trade talks are finalized. China products are still being targeted though, with the ceramic tile case citing dumping rates on shipments from China of up to 428.5%. Even if the petitioners are successful they may not see an uptick in U.S. production. Only 10.6% of seaborne imports of tiles came from China in the 12 months to Mar. 31.
