With just over 100 days to go before the Oct. 31 for Brexit the political situation in the U.K. remains as uncertain as ever – conflict between Parliament and the government is already brewing. In the meantime trade with the EU is starting to dry up. British merchandise trade with the EU having fallen 6.5% year over year in May including an 11.3% slump in imports. Trade with the rest of the world is also slowing – exports to outside the EU grew by 4.2% in May compared to 7.2% in the prior three months. Exports of cars and pharmaceuticals are the main culprits, and slumped 17.2% and 16.4%...
