The EU and U.K. have agreed the need for a “new momentum” in trade talks to solve long-term trade and customs relations after the British government confirmed it will not request an extension for talks beyond the end of 2020. Both sides want to ratify a deal “before the end of 2020” which sets a practical deadline of mid-October to complete talks, around 18 weeks from now.
