Britax, Dorel receive relief from tariffs as government focuses on safety

The U.S. government has issued another round of exemptions from tariffs on Chinese imports applied at a 7.5% rate since February, known as “list 4A” of the section 301 action. As in prior rounds the rate of approval is low, with just 55 of 2,045 decisions announced yielding a positive decision. There appear to have been blanket denials in footwear, toys and electronics while in eyewear there’s been a differentiation between safety and other glasses which is clearly linked to COVID-19.
