Container handling at South Korea’s ports increased 9% on a year earlier in May, the third straight month of growth. Shipments via Busan led with a 10% expansion to reach the highest since at least 2009. Exports from Busan grew 10%, including a 13% expansion in shipments to the U.S. Despite the strength of growth for South Korea’s ports they still lagged the 12% seen in China, but outpaced Taiwan which saw a 4% decline.
