China’s export rebound of 14.2% year over year in March still left the first quarter with a lackluster 1.3% improvement. The poor performance has largely been down to high technology exports which were unchanged year over year in total. Consumer electronics performed poorly in March with telecoms down 8.2% year over year, computer exports down 0.3% while LCD panels fell 5.3%. Semiconductors provided a bright spot with an improvement of 15.1%.
