Container handling in China by COSCO Shipping Ports climbed 13% in July – the fastest growth in at least two years – to break through 6 million TEUs for the first time. That was the result of a 19% jump in Pearl River ports including Guangzhou and HIT. The group outperformed the Chinese mainland average of 11%. The Bohai Rim ports underperformed, with DICT in Dalian dropping 1%, likely driving the company’s move to consolidate regional facilities with PSA International and NYK.
