Cuba’s imports fell 27% on a year earlier in December, Panjiva’s analysis of five trade partners shows, equivalent to an 18% drop for the fourth quarter. The decline was due to lower imports from China, which slumped 43% on lower agricultural machinery and fertilizer purchases. Shipments from the U.S. jumped 560% on increased food supplies, though the future of these is in doubt as the Trump administration reviews its policy toward Cuba.
