Damage to mining and port infrastructure in Queensland from Cyclone Debbie may disrupt shipments to China. Panjiva data shows Australia accounted for 63% of Chinese iron ore imports, 64% of bituminous coal and 41% of LNG purchases over the past 12 months. Exports of all three had experienced a growth in market share over the past three years, including LNG rising from 6% in 2013. Buyers including Hebei, Angang, Baoshan and CNOOC may face supply disruptions over the next few weeks.
