Container handling through Seattle and Tacoma climbed 14.6% higher year over year in March. That was flattered by a 47.7% surge of empty containers as previous congestion issues were cleared. There was also an 11.9% rise in inbound shipments. The port is becoming increasingly reliant on shipments from outside China and Canada for its growth.
