Europe to Keep Shades Closed Against Chinese Solar

China 3047 Energy - Renewables 205 European Union 877 India 550 Tariffs 1865 U.S. 5398

The European Commission is likely to maintain tariffs against Chinese exports of solar power equipment for a further two years according to a SolarPower Europe. Panjiva data shows China’s exports of the products to the EU fell 34% in the last 12 months vs. 2013, but the EU is still 10% of China’s exports. Instead China has diverted supplies to other markets including India, which saw a 235% increase. A 26% drop in total Chinese exports in the past quarter may be the result of a number of trade cases and has led manufacturers to set up factories overseas.
