FedEx expects customers to pay for labor constraints as volume growth continues

Logistics provider FedEx reported FQ4’21 (to May 31) revenues which climbed by 30.0% year over year. The comparator period includes the depths of the disruptions caused by the pandemic. Adjusting for that, the total weight of shipments handled by its Freight division declined by 4.0% in FQ4’21 compared to FQ4’19. The outlook for FedEx depends in part on U.S. demand for products from China. U.S. seaborne imports from China handled by the firm, which represented 51.1% of the total in the past three months, increased by 16.9% in FQ4’21 versus FQ4’19.
