Ford Motor has joined General Motors in shipping models of its light trucks and SUVs without certain electronic modules due to the “global semiconductor shortage – combined with parts shortages created by the central U.S. winter storm in February”. Ford may already have been scaling back its North American supply chain operations with Mexican imports of components linked to the firm down by 48.9% year over year.
