Disruptions to operations at Maersk’s Gothenburg port in Sweden look set to continue after a deal between the company and unions wasn’t reached regarding redundancies. So far 240 hours of lockouts by the company have occurred since mid-June. That has resulted in shipments to the U.S. have fallen 15% vs. May and 29% on a year earlier, Panjiva data shows. Grimaldi is the most exposed container-line with 59% of U.S.-bound traffic, while consignees in the U.S. include steelmaker Ovako, Volvo Cars, Ikea and Glencore.
