U.S. imports of fireworks peak in April through June each year ahead of the Independence Day holidays. Panjiva data shows that while the dollar value of imports was 7% lower in April, seaborne shipments in May and June were 3% and 30% better than a year earlier. That suggests the “July 4” import period will be 7% better than in 2016, with imports worth as much as $138 million in the quarter.
