California’s trade activity remains healthy. Los Angeles International airport handled 12% more incoming freight traffic than a year earlier despite the storms the state experienced. That was eighth straight increase, though it may reflect an acceleration by shippers seeking to preempt new tariffs. Oakland’s traffic fell, but may recover as new routes come online. Seaborne traffic did less well, with an 8% growth in import handling at Los Angeles being offset by lower activity in Long Beach and Oakland.
