The U.S. may reach full energy independence by Feb. 2020 according to Rystad Energy. The country is also close to becoming a net energy exporter on a 12 month average basis. Imports of energy products were equivalent to just 103% of imports in the 12 months to Sept. 30 compared to 155% in 2016 and 288% in 2012. A drop in imports has been a major driver as well as increased oil and natural gas exports. Imports of crude oil fell 7.5% year over year in 3Q, with shipments from outside Canada and Mexico having slumped by 27.1%. That bodes ill for marine shipping firms carrying oil into the U....
