Container-lines operating U.S.-inbound services experienced a 5% rise in volumes in May to reach a record 2.44 million TEUs. That’s been driven by a surge in shipments from Europe. Among the majors ONE did worst with a 13% drop in shipments, likely reflecting a hangover from its booking system problems. Maersk did best with an 11% increase while its 2M partner MSC experienced a 5% rise.
