The U.S. Commerce Department has reportedly passed its recommendations in the section 232 review of aluminum imports to President Trump, who now has 90 days to act. It would be a surprise to see him wait that long to make a decision, and executing on the section 232 review of steel at the same time seems possible. The case has already led to lower aluminum imports in broad terms.
